My guided tours of Castel del Monte will take you to discover a unique masterpiece of medieval architecture, located 18 km from the town of Andria, in the heart of the Murgia.
Castel del Monte, known for its distinctive octagonal shape, was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1996.
During the tour, we will learn about the history of the castle and its founding in the 13th century by Emperor Frederick II of Swabia.
Every interior and exterior element recalls the octagonal shape: the courtyard, the rooms, the towers and the outer perimeter.

Castel del Monte is characterized by the color contrast achieved through the use of coral breccia, limestone, and marble.

Je pense qu’on n’aurait pas pu avoir une meilleure guide qu’Alessandra. Pédagogue, passionnante, extrêmement professionnelle, j’ai été impressionnée de son savoir. Nous avions des bébés avec nous qui nous empêchaient de suivre complètement. Elle ne s’est pas montrée perturbée par cela et a continué la visite avec beaucoup de bienveillance. Nous avons réalisé la visite de Lecce et Matera avec Alessandra.
