We will start our route from Piazza Vittorio Emanuele, the main square of the city.
From here we will be able to admire the 19th-century buildings and the striking Triton Fountain, a symbol of the city and its maritime history.

Old Town and Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta

We will continue as we enter the historic center and walk along the ramparts of Via Cattedrale, reaching the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, built in the 12th century.
Located in Piazza Duomo, this cathedral is a magnificent example of Apulian Romanesque architecture.

Ducal Palace and Roman Walls

From Piazza Duomo, we will admire the imposing Ducal Palace, a 17th-century courtyard building that shows its architectural richness especially on the facade overlooking the sea, close to the remains of the Roman walls.
I will tell you about the history of the palace and its transformations over the centuries.

Old town streets and churches

Wandering through the streets of the center, we will explore the courtyards, narrow streets and architectural details that make Giovinazzo unique.
We will visit the Church of the Holy Spirit and the 16th-century Church of Our Lady of Constantinople, discovering the stories and traditions associated with these sacred places.

Port of Giovinazzo and maritime traditions

The visit will continue to Giovinazzo’s picturesque port, where I will talk about the maritime traditions that have marked the town’s history and the recent revaluation of the historic center, which has led to the rediscovery and enhancement of its beauty.
