Beginning of the visit

My guided tours of Locorotondo will take you to discover one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, famous for its characteristic dwellings called “Cummerse.”
We will start our tour from Piazza Mitrano, next to the Agora Café, and enter through one of the medieval gates that give access to the white town.

Immediately we will notice the radiocentric shape of the old town and the typical architecture of the Cummerse, which surround the outer perimeter of the historic center and the most hidden alleys.
The Cummerse are characteristic buildings with sloping roofs made of limestone slabs, unique in their kind and a distinctive symbol of Locorotondo.
Walking through its narrow streets, you will discover a serene and relaxed atmosphere that attracts thousands of tourists every year.

Historical and Architectural Points of Interest

During the visit, we will walk through the mazes of the village and reach the Chapel of St. Nicholas of Myra, a place of great spiritual and historical importance.
Our next stop will be the Mother Church dedicated to St. George Martyr, with its imposing facade and richly decorated interior.
We will continue to the Clock Tower, a historical and architectural landmark of the city, and Palazzo Morelli, an elegant example of local aristocratic architecture.

We will conclude the guided tour at the Public Gardens, from where we will enjoy a splendid panoramic view of the Itria Valley.
