Beginning of the visit

My guided tours of Manduria will allow you to discover a town of Messapic origins, famous for its megalithic walls that bear witness to an ancient and fascinating past.
Manduria is known as the home of Primitivo wine, which over 50 years ago obtained DOC status.
The history and winemaking of this wine are told inside the Museum of Primitivo Wine Civilization, an unmissable stop on our itinerary.

Historic Center of Manduria

We will begin the visit by exploring the small historic center of Manduria.
The first stop will be the Mother Church, an example of Apulian Romanesque style.
Walking through the streets of the center, I will lead you to the noble palaces, among which the imposing Palazzo Imperiali stands out.
We will continue our walk in the Jewish quarter, where you can still read traces of the passage of this ancient community, adding another layer of history and culture to our visit.

Museum of Primitivo Wine Civilization

After exploring the historic center, we will move to the historic Cantina Sociale to visit the Museum of Primitivo Wine Civilization.
This museum offers a comprehensive overview of the history and winemaking techniques of the Primitivo Wine of Manduria.
During the visit, we will discover how this wine has become a symbol of the Taranto area and the city of Manduria.

Wine Tasting

At the end of the museum visit, an experienced winemaker will lead us in a guided tasting of some of the area’s most representative wines.
This experience will allow you to appreciate the unique characteristics of Primitivo wine and learn firsthand about the production process that makes this wine so special.
